The museum’s first building has three levels to show you how the cavalry developed throughout history. Here you can enjoy a permanent exhibition of handheld firearms, paintings, and miniatures. The second museum building exhibits a large part of the collection of historical cavalry vehicles. There are also temporary exhibitions here, on changing cavalry-related topics.

DierenPark Amersfoort is just a 10-minute drive away from the city centre and is the most child-friendly zoo of the Netherlands. The zoo has a genuine dinosaur forest and a huge birdhouse. The zoo is easily accessible by public transport or car.

Cenotes (sinkholes) are deep wells with crystal clear water that can be accessed when the roof of a cave collapses. Fed by underground rivers, the cenotes were the main source of freshwater for the Mayans and therefore are considered sacred. They are unique to the Yucatán peninsula, and still to this day, the underground cave system connecting all the cenotes remains largely unexplored. Witnessing the breathtaking beauty of the large clusters of stalactites and stalagmites being mirrored in the crystal clear cool waters is a unique experience. Every cenote has its own particular beauty, and putting on a swimsuit and snorkeling in the pool is an absolutely unforgettable experience. Some tour operators also offer cave diving excursions for very experienced divers.

Waterfront Park in Leavenworth is a great spot if you're looking for a peaceful stroll or a more challenging bike ride. Located just steps from downtown, the park offers several trails that wind along the Wenatchee River, with beautiful views of the surrounding nature. You’ll pass through quiet forest areas and enjoy the changing scenery as the seasons shift.
