Jervis Bay

Booderee National Park is a place of outstanding natural beauty offering a wide range of activities including bushwalking, camping, cycling, boating, swimming, fishing and snorkelling. Jervis Bay is one of the most popular fishing destinations on the NSW South Coast. The rock platforms on the northern side of the bay are renowned for land-based game fishing for species such as marlin, tuna and kingfish. Inside the bay, chase bream, whiting and flathead from many of the beaches. Experienced local fishing operators offer great fishing adventure tours in and around the bay.

Watch these majestic creatures swim and play in the waters along the NSW South Coast during their annual migration between May and November. Whale numbers have risen substantially around Jervis Bay in recent years, making the area are great place to watch these graceful mammals from shore or the deck of a tour boat. The viewing platform in Booderee National Park, located at Cape St George Lighthouse, is a splendid observation point. Perpendicular Lighthouse, at the southern end of the Beecroft Peninsula in the Jervis Bay Military Reserve, also offers a good vantage point.

The Jervis Bay area features several lakes, inlets and calm surf beaches from where you can begin a stand-up paddleboarding adventure. Most locations have nearby parking if you're bringing your own paddleboard, or there are several operators along the coast offering rental, tours and private or group lessons. Paddleboarding in the Jervis Bay Marine Park gives you the chance to be surrounded by colourful sea life including dolphins, eagle rays, penguins, fish and birds.
