After a hard day trekking through the rainforest or diving on the reef, hit the town and share a few stories (and a few beers) with the crowds who converge on the city’s bars after dark. Cocktail bars to pubs, clubs and nightclubs can be found by the waterfront and the CBD, many which are lined along Spence Street, forming a strip with some of the city’s best and wildest entertainment venues. So hit one of Cairns vibrant nightclubs where the party continues until the early morn and be prepared to have a fun night out!

Gilligan’s

Gilligan’s is a renowned party venue, maybe the biggest one in Cairns. Popular among locals and backpackers alike. The back deck by the pool shows off some of Cairns most popular live bands including local and international DJs.

The Pier Bar

The Pier Bar is a great place to down a few beers while watching the sunset from the deck. Simply awesome! Be prepared though, because as the night passes, the crowd grows, and you better be ready for a night of chatting with some friendly locals while listening to live music.

Great atmosphere, live music and excellent drinks. P.J. O'Brien is an Irish pub full of tourists, locals and backpackers, all of them having a good time, enjoying Guinness and sea shanties. Live party bands on the weekends, lady’s nights on Tuesdays, wild west on Wednesdays — the fun never ends.
