Characterized by a pristine night sky untouched by light pollution, the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve is one of the best spots for stargazing. Once nighttime comes, you'll be able to look up and see the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy and all our nearby planets. It also serves as a hiking, mountain biking and skiing location by day.

Annually, over 40,000 people visit the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, which is dedicated to providing exhibits and education in the visual and performing arts to the region. In addition to its permanent exhibits, the center hosts theatrical and musical performances as well as lectures, classes, and workshops.

With over 100 musicians, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony is the largest privately-funded symphony in American performing free concerts. All concerts are held at the Sun Valley Pavillion located at the Sun Valley Resort.

Sun Valley pioneered heli-skiing, where skiers are taken by helicopter to otherwise inaccessible ski spots high in the mountains.

Hike some of the 350 miles of trails in the Sawtooth Wilderness Area, where you have access to the preserved natural beauty of mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, meadows and wildlife.

With the Sun Valley Resort at its center, skiing has been a part of life in the area since the 1930s. Bald Mountain, the resort's main peak, is a favorite destination for skiers from all over the world.

Enjoy one of the weekly wildflower walks in the summer or one of the many other activities, including classes for adults and children. The Botanical Gardens provide information on gardening and teach the larger ecological interrelationship of plants and animals in the region.
