There are dozens of fantastic restaurants scattered across Hilton Head Island. Lowcountry fare is abundant, as is fresh fish, fresh shrimp, and fresh oysters. Be sure to grab a bowl of crab soup before your main dish, or enjoy Oysters Rockefeller before dining on the day's fresh catch. For breakfast, chow down on pancakes or biscuits and gravy. For lunch, nosh at several different locations featuring gourmet sandwiches, soups, and seafood. Like most Southern cities, you won't leave Hilton Head Island hungry.

The Old Oyster Factory

Built on the original site of an oyster factory, surrounded by old oyster shells and an inlet waterway, the Old Oyster Factory is a mainstay and favorite of Hilton Head Island diners. The restaurant has large bay windows on three sides of the dining room, allowing diners to look out across the water as it ebbs and flows with the tides.

Looking for a break from Lowcountry fare, but not ready to go home? Try Santa Fe Café, a perfect meal when you are looking for more turf than surf in Hilton Head Island. Aside from having a great lunch menu, they have a 'Happy Hour Munchies' menu available nightly from 5-7pm. Make sure to stop by for some authentic Santa Fe cooking.

Featuring amazing Lowcountry fare, fresh seafood, and gourmet cuisine, CQ's is the place to eat for dinner. They feature several menu options with fantastic choices for the seafood lover or the steak and pork chop enthusiast. If you want to eat early, their early bird menu has many great options. Be sure to call ahead and make reservations.

Main Street Café and Pub, located in Hilton Head Plantation, offers a laid back and enjoyable atmosphere while grabbing a bite and a drink. Whether you're looking for some excellent seafood or a great sandwich, enjoy a meal at Main Street Café and Pub. They offer daily drink specials and, after 5pm, have an All You Can Eat Crab Legs special.

If you are craving steaks, seafood, Lowcountry fare, or fresh fruit and vegetables with the best ingredients available, make sure to book a table at Red Fish. Their wine shop features over 1,000 varieties of wine available for purchase. They can also accompany your meal for a corkage fee.

Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks features some of the freshest seafood available on Hilton Head Island. They employ a private fleet that sails and brings in fresh catches every day. Be sure to get a bowl of She-crab soup and shrimp and grits, or enjoy their extensive oyster menu.

The Salty Dog Café

The Salty Dog Café

Located right on the water in South Beach Marina, the Salty Dog Café is a fantastic place to stop for lunch. They offer fresh fish, soups, salads, local Lowcountry favorites, as well as 'mainland' fare. While visiting, be sure to ask about Jake the Salty Dog and the legend surrounding the restaurant, and check out their T-shirt shop and ice cream parlor.

The Crazy Crab in Harbour Town

The Crazy Crab in Harbour Town

The Crazy Crab is a great place to grab a seafood lunch or dinner while visiting Harbour Town, or at its Jarvis Creek location. The Harbour Town location offers views of the marina and ocean. Jarvis Creek's location has the largest saltwater aquarium on the island. Make sure you stop by and try some of their homemade hush puppies and fresh catch of the day.
