Wild at Heart is a rescue, rehabilitation and release center for birds where the volunteers rescue injured owls, hawks, falcons and eagles. This is a well-organized facility who also provides educational presentations. Please note, before visiting, you must contact them in advance to arrange a tour.

Created through the valiant efforts of community volunteers, Desert Awareness Park is 26-acres of educational and outstanding natural wealth. There are self-guided tours through the Park to allow for exploration of the land’s desert plants and flowers. Significant changes can be seen through the seasons: autumn brings lush leaves, winter brings flowers, seeds and berries, and spring brings a bounty of cacti with delightfully colored flowers. Ramadas and barbecues enable visitors to enjoy lunch in the outdoors, and there’s a playground for the kids.

Not only is the ride a great way to take in the natural beauty of Arizona, but it’s also a historical perspective of Cave Creek’s mining past. The horses are kind and gentle, adding to the guidance of the cowboys and cowgirls who lead the way. You can even suit up in the hats, boots, and chaps of the traditional cowboy if you like.

Ride about the town with a rental from Spur Cross! Located right in Cave Creek, cycle enthusiasts and laymen alike can bike to Carefree, Scottsdale, North Phoenix, and Anthem. Choose from either road or mountain bikes at a reasonable cost.
