The City
The guide was updated:
Zadar is the urban centre of northern Dalmatia, situated at the heart of the Adriatic sea. Often shadowed by more famous destinations along the Croatian coast, it's a city of exceptional history with a modern and welcoming attitude.
In the peninsular Old Town, traces of the past are still visible in layout of the narrow, cobblestone streets and in the Roman ruins abutting cosy cafes and traditional eateries.
Zadar is also the ideal departure point to discover the beautiful surroundings. For day trips, consider exploring Krka National Park with its waterfalls, the Kornati Islands, Plitvice Lakes National Park, or the island of Pag.
