The Tucson International Airport (TUS) is about 10 miles south from downtown Tucson and served by six airlines that fly nonstop to 15 major U.S. cities, including Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Car rentals
On-site you will find nine car rentals such as Hertz, Avis, Budget and Enterprise. These car rental agencies can be found in the Rental Car Facility east of the Terminal.
Bus
To travel by public transport from the airport you can use Tucson region's public transit system called Sun Tran. It usually runs every 30 minutes from 5:30 am to 10:30 pm on weekdays and every 60 minutes from 6 am to 7 pm during weekends and holidays. The bus stop is placed directly west of the terminal on the Departures Roadway. You can either pay cash (exact change is required) or with SunGO fare card which you can purchase in advance and have mailed to you before the trip.
Shuttle
Arizona Stagecoach offers shared-ride van services throughout the Tucson region. Their counter is in the baggage claim area. Many hotels and resorts also offer shuttle services, but make sure to book in advance.
Taxi
Another option to travel from the airport is by taxi. There are four taxi companies serving from the airport which are situated on the Commercial Roadway outside the baggage claim area.

Passport / Visa
Citizens of the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Kingdom of Brunei can visit the United States for up to 90 days without applying for a visa (as well as citizens of Andorra, Lichtenstein, Monaco and San Marino). Citizens of these countries must obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before traveling. All other travelers must obtain a visa before visiting the United States. International travelers need a passport that is valid for at least 3 months after the end of their intended trip in order to enter the country.

Best Time to Visit
Late spring and fall are the best times to visit Tucson, when the temperature is pleasant and the prices are affordable. During summer you can find some great deals, but beware of the hot temperatures and frequent rain. On the other hand, winter here is quite mild, which makes it the peak season for tourists in Tucson.

Public Transportation
SunTran operates the public bus system in Tucson. They operate 40 fixed routes. You can either pay your fair by having a SunGO Card or pay with the Go Tucson app. If paying in cash, the farebox validates bills and coins.

The Sun Link Tucson Streetcar links five major activity centers–the University of Arizona, Fourth Avenue, Main Gate Square, Downtown Tucson, and the Mercado District–in central Tucson. Cash is not accepted on the streetcar. You can buy a 1-Day SunGO ticket and once you have activated it, it is valid for 24 hours. Tucson Streetcar starts to operate at 7am on weekdays and at 8am on weekends.
