Syracuse Hancock International Airport is located 4.6 miles / 7.4 km northeast of Syracuse. It is a joint civil-military public airport. Some of the major airlines serving Syracuse Hancock International Airport are Air Canada, American Eagle, Delta, JetBlue, United Airlines and USAirways.
Syracuse Airport Taxi Service has an exclusive agreement to provide ground transportation for the airport. Accordingly, they are the only company allowed to operate a dispatch center inside the terminal and state vehicles outside the airport. They provide both taxi and shuttle van services. Other companies are allowed to pick up passengers on a prearranged basis.

As with the rest of New York State, temperatures in Syracuse may vary drastically throughout the year. The warmest period to visit Syracuse stretches from June to August, though the high humidity, around 50% on average, could bring about rain already during the last days of July. Winters can be cold, so a trip is better left for late Spring, approximately from April to May, this season offers tourists open air attractions, such as artists performing in the streets, and the beauty of many flowering trees in the numerous parks and along the avenues of the city center.
