Port Macquarie Airport (PQQ) is approximately one hour by air from Sydney or Brisbane. Located just 5 kilometres from the town centre, it takes about 10 minutes to reach by car. Transport options include taxis and shuttle buses, conveniently located in front of the baggage claim area. For those using public transportation, a bus stop is situated next to the airport's rental car park.

Ferries
Port Macquarie is serviced by two ferries linking the town centre to the North Shore, providing access to Limeburners Creek Nature Reserve, North Beach and Crescent Head via Maria River Road (gravel road) and Point Plomer Road (4WD access only).
Settlement Point Ferry
This 21-vehicle ferry is located at Settlement Point Road and operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. The service is closed for maintenance between 9:30am and 3pm every 4th Wednesday of the month.
Hibbard Ferry
This 21-vehicle ferry is located at Boundary Street off Hastings River Drive. The service operates from Monday to Friday 6:30am–9:50am and 2:45pm to 6:50pm. On weekends and public holidays the ferry runs between 8am and 6:50pm, and during school holidays from 6:30am to 6:50pm. The service is closed for maintenance between 10am and 2:45pm every 4th Thursday of the month.
