Italy can be visited visa-free for up to 90 days by citizens of most European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Israel, UAE and most countries in America. If you are unsure whether or not you need to apply for a visa, we recommend contacting the embassy or consulate in your country. Citizens of Schengen countries can travel without a passport, but must have a valid ID with them during their stay.

Best Time to Visit
The best seasons to visit Pescara are spring and summer. In July and August, it can get quite hot, but the weather is perfect for long days at the beach, and the nightlife is vibrant. If you're planning to visit the city and the nearby areas, and maybe to do some excursions, go in May, June or September, when the weather is pleasant, with temperatures being milder than in summer. The beaches are less crowded, and you can still enjoy outdoor activities. Spring, in particular, brings blooming landscapes.

Public Transport
Pescara itself is fairly small, so it is unlikely visitors will need to use the bus system. But if you do, you can buy tickets from newsagents around town. The bus station is located next to the train station, Stazione Centrale. There is a direct bus line to Rome (Roma Tiburtina) via Pescara Centrale, taking about two and a half hours. Buses also leave for Naples from here.
You also find three main train stations from where you can travel to an array of Italian destinations: Pescara Centrale, Pescara Porta Nuova, and Pescara San Marco. Porta Nuova is mainly used for ferry connections.
