The peninsula which projects straight out into the Mediterranean lies nine kilometres east of Nice. A playground for billionaires, the Prince of Monaco’s illegitimate children, and various jet-setters. The promenade along the beach, with its tiny bathing beaches, is open to everybody. Wonderful at any time of year!

Fondation Maeght is a museum of modern art that owns one of the largest European collections of paintings, sculptures, drawings and graphic arts of the 20th century. A small village in the mountains, where you just might run into Prince Albert of Monaco.
