The Archipelago
The guide was updated:Karlshamn's beautiful archipelago extends from the western municipal border to Sweden’s southeastern corner. This group of islands is called Hällaryd’s archipelago and consists of 270 scenic islands of different sizes with stone or rocky beaches and meadows. Joggesö, Ekö, Hallö, Östra Bokö and Fölsö are the names of some of the islands. The largest in the archipelago is Tärnö. The archipelago boats visit most islands, starting at the archipelago terminal in the city centre across from First Hotel. Boats also depart from Matvik and Järnavik.

Eriksberg Hotel & Nature Reserve
Go on a safari tour at Eriksberg's Wildlife Park and see wild animals in their natural habitat. Red deer, fallow deer, Père David’s deer, European bison, wild boar and moufflon roam freely in this unique nature reserve in the archipelago. The tour goes through a fascinating rocky landscape of oak woodlands, dense hornbeam woodlands and knotty conifers. There is a rich bird life as well, and one of the world’s largest stocks of the protected red water lily. The park consists of more than 925 hectares, of which 409 hectares of water. The fenced portion is about 900 hectares, which means that Eriksberg is one of northern Europe's largest wildlife reserves.

Karlshamn's Museum
The museum is located in Karlshamn's cultural quarter. Here you will find the city museum, the old punsch factory, the tobacco factory, the silversmith's workshop, the printing factory, the art gallery, and the famous songwriter for children Alice Tegner's special room.
Skottbergska Gården is also in the cultural quarter. It is one of Sweden’s best-preserved trading houses with roots from the late 18th century, original adornments and an apartment furnished in the style of that period.

The Emigrants Monument, an evocative representation of Karl-Oskar and Kristina from William Moberg's novel 'The Emigrants', graces the beach promenade in Karlshamn's Hamnparken. Serving as a poignant memorial, it honours the over 1 million Swedes who, between 1848 and 1930, left their homeland in pursuit of a better life, escaping the clutches of hunger and poverty. Stärnö-Boön Nature Reserve
This one-of-a-kind nature reserve is filled with deciduous forest, seaweed belts, pines and a bloomy open ground that borders a waterfilled quarry. It also showcases the rugged beauty of Karlshamn's granite and coastal gneiss.
Rich in history, the land areas harbour ancient and cultural monuments, including a Stone Age settlement, graves, and stone burials from the Bronze and Iron Ages. Notably, remnants of the Per Albin Line, a 500 km long defensive line from the Second World War, add historical significance to the reserve. Submerged in the water area around Sternö and Boön, several shipwrecks contribute to the reserve's maritime allure.

Långasjönäs Nature Reserve
Discover the natural beauty of Långasjönäs nature reserve, where Nytorpet offers a plethora of outdoor activities amidst the serene surroundings. Explore hiking trails and exercise tracks, unwind in the sauna, or set out on the tranquil waters with rowing boats. Nearby, you’ll also find Långasjönäs campsite, where you can rent cottages or camp with a caravan, camper van or tent. There is also a swimming area with an accessible jetty and barbecue areas.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, there were paper mills, distilleries, sawmills, and starch mills in the area. Most of the buildings are now only ruins that are well worth a visit. Located just 10 kilometres north of Karlshamn's city centre, Långasjönäs promises a retreat into nature's embrace.

Karlshamn's Golf Club is a pearl on the beach of the Mörrum River with its 36 holes in forest and park nature. The course runs in a mix of deciduous and coniferous forests where each hole is beautifully embedded. The new course is a little narrower than the old one and will be a challenge for those who want to find strategic paths.

Strandpromenaden
The seaside promenade is a lovely hiking trail along the coast in central Karlshamn. It is about 2 kilometres long and starts at the statue of the emigrants, Karl Oskar and Kristina, in Näsviken. The hiking trail goes all the way out to Vägga fishing harbour, where you'll find a smokehouse, fish restaurant, café, and campsite. Along the trail, there are several public barbecue spots and places with great views to enjoy. Along the way, you'll also pass by Cafe Villa Utsikten (only open in the summer, but a very nice viewpoint all year round), paddle courts, Väggabadet (swimming pools) and Karlshamn’s Kallbadhus (outdoor swimming bath).

Abu Museum
In 1887, Henning Hammarlund founded 'Halda Fickursfabrik', a pocket watch factory in the town of Svängsta, just outside of Karlshamn. The Swedish-made watches were sought after worldwide and were manufactured in the same building until the 1940s. Just over three decades later, the old factory was transformed into one of Sweden's most distinguished industrial museums.
