Citizens of the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Kingdom of Brunei can visit the United States for up to 90 days without applying for a visa (as well as citizens of Andorra, Lichtenstein, Monaco and San Marino). Citizens of these countries must obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before traveling. All other travelers must obtain a visa before visiting the United States. Kansas City offers a wide range of festivals and events that are best enjoyed during the warmest summer months from June to August, but is a city that entertains all year long. Thanks to the city's moderate size, traffic is never really an issue, but weather tends to be extreme throughout the whole year, so be sure to always look that up when planning your trip.

Various car and shuttle services are available (reservation requirements vary). To transfer between terminals, take the Red Bus.

The recently consolidated transportation system is now operated by RideKC. Visitor and day passes are available for purchase online as well as via their mobile app. The KC Streetcar offers a free ride on the 2-mile route from River Market to Union Station in the downtown.
