Their great interest in food culture and champagne laid the foundation for their next project: Matscenen ("The food scene"). Behind the concept are chef Simon Tollesson, who previously worked at the Guide Michelin restaurant Vollmers in Malmö, and the communications agency Whyland. Together, they strive to give guests an intimate and fun dining experience with the raw material and the guest in the centre. Why the name Smörtaxen (Butter Dachshund in English)? Well, it's a small tablecloth detail in the form of a dog that you can lean the butter knife against. In the restaurant you will find one on every table.

When you're in Helsingborg, don't miss out on the most "Helsingborgian" thing you can do — "tura." This involves taking a ferry between Helsingborg in Sweden and Helsingør (Elsinore) in Denmark, staying on board for a short while without disembarking. Here's how it works: board the ferry in Helsingborg, settle into the onboard restaurant, order some food and drinks, as well as shopping, and enjoy cruising back and forth across the Öresund/Øresund strait. Several evenings throughout the year, live musicians perform on the boats. The ferry takes 20 minutes to cross the strait and runs two to four times an hour, depending on when you travel. A single "tura" is a round-trip from Helsingborg to Helsingør. Typically, people go for a double or even triple "tura".
