The island of Cozumel on the Caribbean coast is served by Cozumel International Airport, which handles both international and domestic flights. Approximately 2.8 km (1.7 miles) from the centre, taxis and shuttle buses are an easy way to move from the airport to the city centre, and vice versa. While hailing a taxi, make sure to have Mexican pesos or US dollars, as many taxi drivers do not accept credit cards. Taxi fares start at USD 5 for short rides up to USD 60 for an all-island tour.

Since 2016, all taxi drivers must produce a list of fares before taking on a passenger.
Taxi stands can be found just outside the pier. Also, rideshare companies, such as Uber and Lyft do not operate on the island of Cozumel.
