Trattoria Lo Romanì
The guide was updated:Trattoria Lo Romanì gets a lot of things right. The setting is stunning, with pastel coloured walls and gentle lighting setting the mood, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is great. But what it does best is the porchetto, a traditional Sardinian spit-roasted pork dish, which is better here than anywhere else.

Il Pavone is a superb and charming Alghero restaurant famed for its imaginative menu and signature squid ink pasta. Make sure you ask for the list of specials which are presented on the side of large medicine bottles. Service is impeccable.

Wander just a bit outside the old town to this lovely restaurant where owner Gianni and his staff will make you feel like part of the family. Be sure to book in advance as it often gets packed, which is understandable given the excellent quality of the food and reasonable prices.
