Avila Beach is served by the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport, which offers commercial flights to Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle and other national destinations. Airlines operating here include United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and American Airlines. Ground transportation options include car rental companies such as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and Hertz; however, parking is limited. Most travelers rely on apps like Lyft or Uber to get to the airport. There is only one terminal with modest amenities, including free Wi-Fi, an ATM and charging stations. There are also a couple of restaurants and vending machines for a quick bite.

Citizens of the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Kingdom of Brunei can visit the United States for up to 90 days without applying for a visa, as well as citizens of Andorra, Lichtenstein, Monaco and San Marino.
