In addition to the Rotonda, this is one of the two most characteristic monuments in town. The Galerius arch is situated close to the eastern city wall, a short distance from the Kassandreotiki gate. The 4th-century AD Roman emperor Galerius commissioned both structures to show off his power. A road used to run through the arch, past the Rotunda and on to the palace to the southwest. The arch is composed of a masonry core faced with marble sculptural panels celebrating a victory over the seventh emperor in the Sassanid Persian Empire. About two-thirds of the arch is preserved. Colloquially, the monument in known as Kamara, that's Greek for 'arch'.

The double-towered building made of red bricks housing the city council, the city's administration, and various other municipal organisations is a major symbol of the city. The interiors are decorated with scenes of Norwegian culture, history, and working life from the first half of the 20th century. The ceremony for the Nobel Peace Prize awarding is held here every year.

Perched atop one of Dakar's hills, Les Mamelles Lighthouse, completed in 1864, is a historic beacon guiding ships around Africa's westernmost point. This iconic, all-white structure offers panoramic views of the Cap-Vert peninsula from its lantern gallery. Visitors can explore the lighthouse through guided tours, learning about its evolution and significance to West African navigation. The site also features an outdoor dining area, and a popular bar with live music events.

The Hann public park is a green oasis right in the heart of the city. Established over a century ago, it hosts three arboretums featuring a wide sample of Senegalese flora, an ethnobotanical garden, as well as a zoo that is home to over 130 animals.
