The Santa Fe Trail was a transportation route through central North America that connected Franklin, Missouri, with Santa Fe, New Mexico, during the 19th century. In 1821, the Santa Fe Trail became America's first international commercial highway, becoming one of the nation's great routes of adventure and western expansion for nearly six decades afterwards. Congress recognized the significance of the Trail to American history by proclaiming it a National Historic Trail in 1987. Now visitors and locals can partake in its amazing history.

Around 90 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen, Dapeng Fortress stands as a time capsule from the Ming Dynasty. This 600-year-old walled military village was built to protect the region from pirates, and much of its original structure remains intact. Walking through the fortress, you’ll encounter ancient fortifications, narrow alleys, and sturdy watchtowers. In 2007, Dapeng Fortress was recognised as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage for its cultural significance. Today, it’s a place where you can step back into history, explore the centuries-old architecture, and imagine life as it was when pirates roamed the waters just off the coast.

Home to over 10,000 aquatic creatures, Xiamen Undersea World offers a range of exciting experiences, including the chance to visit the feeding tank, where visitors can hand-feed turtles and baby sharks. The aquarium features a variety of marine life, from colourful fish to larger creatures, and the underwater tunnel gives you a close-up view of sea life from a unique perspective.

Thousands are drawn each year to Santa Fe for its wealth of natural and historical sight-seeing opportunities. Among these are the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos located north of the city. With a history extending millennia, the pueblos were inhabited by Native Americans far before the arrival of the Spanish in the 1500s. Today, their cultures, traditions, and arts lend to New Mexico's greatness.
