The Moravian's love of beer is well-documented. Bars are usually very full, very smoky, and quite often the domain of middle-aged men. However, pick a venue from the list below and you won't be disappointed by the genuine pub experience.

As a university town, Brno has a young, hip population and a great nightlife scene with a great choice of trendy discos, raves, alternative gigs, jazz and world music venues, opera and art-house cinema–everyone will find something to do once the sun goes down.

Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice

Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice

If you want to immerse yourself in the Czech culture, you have to pay a visit to Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice, an authentic pub in Czech style! This long-running beer bar is now very appreciated and visited by tourists, but it keeps serving excellent pilsner and traditional Moravian cuisine, maintaining a traditional feel.

A welcoming pub and pension situated in a very convenient area, right by the Špilberk Castle and one of the most important squares in Brno, Liberty Square. This peculiar bar has its own micro-brewery, and it's actually the only place where you can sample their unique Pegas beer.
