According to ZooSite, Beekse Bergen is not only the Best Wildlife Animal Park in the Netherlands & Belgium, but in addition to the 1500 wild animals in the safari park it has a holiday park and a water playpark. Stay at the holiday park in some of the African-style accommodation and you will receive a FunCard which gives you access to the Safaripark Beekse Bergen and Speelland Beekse Bergen as well as to a number of other nature and sports attractions in Brabant. But Beekse Bergen is of course renowned for being the largest wildlife safari park in Benelux. Brabant is Vincent van Gogh’s homeland (1853 - 1890). Van Gogh’s masterpieces are scattered throughout the world, but their roots are in Brabant. Here is where Van Gogh produced his first masterpiece ‘The Potato Eaters’. To this day, Vincent’s footsteps can be traced in places like Zundert, Nuenen, Tilburg, Etten-Leur and ’s-Hertogenbosch. You can see the house where he was born, his young brother’s grave, his art class at school, the parsonage and several churches where his father worked. Nuenen is a historical village that offers a walking tour along 23 locations related to his work. The Noordbrabants Museum in ‘s-Hertogenbosch houses original works by Van Gogh in ‘The Story of Brabant’.

As early as in the 19th century, Heidelberg cast its spell on poets such as Joseph von Eichendorff and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe with its romantic charisma. It was immortalized in many publications. Heidelberg has managed to preserve this irresistible magic to this day. The romantic Castle ruin with its large garden facility, the picturesque Old Town with its cozy alleys and squares and the River Neckar, idyllically winding its way through the green valley, draw several million guests to the city every year. Heidelberg is connected to its Castle – which served as the residence of the Prince Electors of the Palatinate for five centuries – as inseparably as with its more than 600-year-Old University. The city’s history is ever-present. The Philosophenweg (Philosophers’ Walk) on the sunny slope of the Heiligenberg (Holy Mountain), affording not only scholars a special view of the city, the river, the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge) and the Castle as well as the Königstuhl (King’s Seat),which is nearly 600 meters high.
