This huge modern mosque stands on the northeast side of Taman Merdeka, with its graceful dome and soaring minaret reflected in a mirror-like pool. Completed in 1978, it was designed by the Indonesian architect Frederic Silaban (himself a Christian), and it's the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, with room for more than 10,000 worshipers.

Located on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe, Pope Beach offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains, creating a perfect backdrop for relaxation. The smooth sand and gentle winds, often mitigated by the surrounding pine forest, contribute to a pleasant atmosphere for visitors. The area features picnic tables and grills, though wood and charcoal fires are not permitted. And while parking incurs a fee during the summer months, biking and hiking are free year-round. With an elevation of approximately 6,600 feet, the Eagle Falls Trail is a popular hiking destination in the Lake Tahoe area. This relatively short hike takes you alongside stunning waterfalls, lush green mountains, and native pine trees, offering picturesque views at every turn. Arrive early to avoid the crowds and bring your camera to capture the breathtaking scenery along the way.
