Just off the Tomb of the Kings road in Paphos, lies a huge area which dates back to 300 BC here was the last resting place for top officials and members of Paphian aristocracy, each would have been laid in burial niches along with jewellery and other artefacts relating to their life. Tragically, these tombs were looted many many years ago leaving behind only an echoing and very powerful sense of stillness and a certain mystery. The tombs were carved out of solid rock and with frescoed walls, and looming Doric columns line the 100 tombs which have been unearthed. This site is well worth a visit and the best examples can be seen if you visit the atrium area.

Built over the main mosque of the old Moslem city, this cathedral is an eclectic mix of styles, from Romanesque to Neoclassical. An extraordinary collection of Flemish tapestries from the metropolitan chapter are on display in the Tapestry Museum.

This small Gothic church was built in 1402 and was dedicated to St. Cross in 1421 when it was a parish church. It represents a typical example of the rural sacral architecture. A valuable detail is the old Romanesque-Gothic holy-water font on the pillar, a unique specimen in this part of Dalmatia.

The Bells Monument outside the city centre of Sofia was installed in 1979, when UNESCO declared it International Year of the Child. The monument presents more than 70 bells from across the world, on pillars that are marked with a message from children from the respective nation. Occasionally, the seven main bells, one for each continent at the top of the central pillar, ring along to parades or events held around the monument.
