Located on an island in the River Weser, the Weserburg museum is an exhibition space that extends over 4,000 square metres. Its exhibits feature works of internationally famous artists alongside pieces created by the next generation of local talents. Apart from art, the Weserburg houses Europe's largest collection of publications and documents about art, ranging from postage stamps to books, films and vinyl records. It is an archive, a research institute and an exhibition space, all rolled into one.

The Bremer Philharmoniker orchestra is one of the oldest orchestras in the world, with 200 years of existence. Its deep-rooted traditions and the variety of its artistic programmes make it an essential part of the culture in North West Germany. The orchestra has a wide repertoire that includes opera, chamber music and philharmonic concerts. In addition to performances, they host charity concerts and music workshops for both adults and children. Växjö cathedral is one of Småland's most visited places. The church is from the 12th century. The cathedral is located close to the shore of Lake Växjö. The imposing twin steeples can be seen over virtually the whole town. The cathedral, large and light, is full of Småland studio art glass and a wander around the building takes us through several of the bible's narratives. The triptych altar screen, sculptured by world-famous glass artist Bertil Vallien, forms the tree of life: from death to life.
