Located next to the Fitzroy River, the new Rockhampton Museum of Art is a major architectural and cultural attraction in the CBD. Originally established as the Rockhampton Art Gallery in the late 1960s, the museum boasts an impressive collection of twentieth-century Australian paintings. The collection spans from mid-twentieth century works to contemporary art, comprising more than 3,000 objects.

SALT Beyoğlu is a six-story building on the central shopping İstiklal street. In this historic building you'll find selected artworks and small-scale exhibitions that are ever changing to reflect the fast-paced rhythm of the modern world. San Xavier del Bac Mission, located 10 miles south of Tucson on the Tohono O’odham Nation, is an iconic example of Spanish colonial architecture. Known as the “White Dove of the Desert,” its striking white facade contrasts beautifully with the surrounding desert landscape. Built between 1783 and 1787, the mission blends Moorish, Byzantine, and Mexican Renaissance styles, featuring intricate carvings, vibrant murals, and a gilded retable depicting biblical stories. Still an active parish, it holds daily masses and remains a spiritual center for the Tohono O’odham people. Extensive restorations have preserved its historic beauty, making it one of the best-preserved Spanish missions in the U.S. Visitors can explore the mission’s interior, join free docent-led tours, or browse crafts and frybread sold by local artisans.

With specimens of over 200 palms, cycads and ferns, the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens are regarded as one of the best provincial gardens in Australia. The heritage-listed Botanic Gardens are 130-years-old and perfectly suited to spend a sunny afternoon with the family. Located within the Botanic Gardens, the Rockhampton Zoo is home to a wide range of animals in their natural surroundings.
