At the Faust Vrančić Memorial Centre, you can get to know the life and work of Faust Vrančić, a man whom the world today mostly remembers as the inventor of Homo Volans - the flying man, but he was a lot more. Take a look at the collection of the models of his inventions, some of which are real life-size, and his more important written works. The multimedia displays also provide educational games for the youngest visitors.

The three Art Nouveau kiosks by architect Ernesto Basile appear like unexpected gems along the buzzing streets of Palermo. Built about the end of the 19th century, the kiosks once hosted the traditional Sicilian vendors of soft drinks and refreshing beverages but are today converted into tobacconists. Chiosco Ribaudo located in Piazza Verdi, the most famous one, is a crimson and wrought iron building adorned with golden letters. The second Ribaudo kiosk in Piazza Castelnuovo is decorated with colourful majolica and mosaics while the Chiosco Vicari, in front of the Teatro Massimo, is a triumph of Moorish, Islamic, and Colonial architecture.

The Museo de Bellas Artes has an exceptional collection of traditional works by well-known masters, such as El Greco, Goya, Gauguin, Francis Bacon, Picasso, and Velazquez. The era of the collection begins in the Middle Ages all the way to the contemporary art of today. The museum has been around since 1908 and started as one of the first Fine Art museums in the world. The popularity of the museum caused the extension of the building with another part in which the rest of the art could be displayed.
