The Tailors' Bastion is what remains of the town's original 15th century fortifications. Although the bastion's lookout is not one that's best fit for taking in all of Cluj-Napoca today, the site is worth visiting if only for historic value (and its exhibitions of Romanian art). Directly outside is the statue of Baba Novac, a distinguished anti-Ottoman resistance fighter.

If you're up for hiking in the fresh air, climbing Mount Qingcheng is the ideal activity for your trip to Chengdu. The mountain is the cradle Taoism and is considered sacred according to the Taoist culture. There are dozens of Taoist temple hides under the greenery, some abandoned, some are still prosperous.

Perhaps Luang Prabang's most famous attraction, the three levelled waterfall is a favourite spot for both tourists and locals. Engulfed by lush tropical jungle, the mesmerising turquoise waters of the natural pools make for a relaxing and invigorating swim. About 23 km (18 mi) south of Luang Prabang, the easiest and fastest ways to get to this jaw-dropping sight are by tuk-tuk and minivan. Don't miss out on the moon bear sanctuary and the small market at the entrance to the falls, selling original handicrafts and delectable food. Please note that not all the swimming pools are open to the public. Some of them are considered sacred. Therefore, please swim only where permitted.

For any visit to Kyōto, a stop at Nishiki Market is a must. The over 400-year-old market with its 126 stalls is a foodie haven. All sorts of scents and flavours, from the sweet savouriness of tamagoyaki (the Japanese rolled omelette) to the fried treats, to the acidic tanginess of tsukemono (pickled goods), fill the thriving narrow shopping street. Besides the delicacies, the market is also famous for kitchen paraphernalia and tools, such as the acclaimed hand-crafted knives of Aritsugu. Fun fact: almost all edibles sold here are served on sticks.
