Adjacent to the court church you will find the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum which since 1929 has accumulated a fascinating collection of every day objects of rural, urban and aristocratic life in former days, when the Trentino area and the Ladin valleys of the Dolomites were still part of the Tyrol. Following extensive refurbishments in 2009, the collections – which range among the most beautiful and impressive in the Alpine region – can be viewed in new splendour.

Founded in 1894 by Percival Lowell, the Lowell Observatory serves as a research institution, as well as a public space for astronomy enthusiasts, featuring telescopes, multimedia shows, and exhibits. The dwarf planet Pluto was discovered here in 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh.

Located at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers, this impressive brick castle was built in the 14th century at the beginning of the Teutonic attacks. Unique for its double walls and the surrounding tunnel, many events and legends of Lithuanian history are attributed to it. Just opposite the castle, St. George the Martyr Church is also worth a visit, for it is an important landmark of Roman Catholicism.
