One of the most controversial and prestigious buildings in Zagreb, The Mimara Museum was built at the bequest of controversial Croatian art collector and philanthropist, Ante Topić Mimara. The museum houses more than 3,500 artworks including original paintings from Rembrandt, Rubens, Renoir, and Manet.

This cave is a spectacular jewel of natural phenomena. It was discovered in 1840, and opened to the public in 1908. An indeed unusual excursion into what looks like another world.

Trieste Cathedral's main feature is a large 14th-century Gothic rose window and central location. There are three entrance portals, decorated with Roman material. To the side stands the 14th-century bell tower built in large blocks and decorated with a Romanesque style border and Gothic relief work depicting San Giusto, the city’s patron Saint.

The Green Lake is known as the Jade of the city. Two long dikes divide the lake into four parts. Brightly painted pavilions, tree-lined walks and exercising locals all add to the appeal of the park. During the winter months, black-headed gulls from Siberia migrate to Green Lake and entertain the crowds of visitors as they circle around and snap up bread fed to them by birdwatchers and visitors. There used to be a military school in the neighbourhood, where the famous Chinese generals Zhu De and Ye Jianying were educated in the 1910s.
