Checkpoint Charlie, the most famous of the inner-German border crossing points and a name known the world over, was where Allied border guards would register members of the American, English and French Armed Forces (and their families) before they visited East Berlin. The "Wall Museum – Museum House at Checkpoint Charlie” is right next to this major tourist spot. The museum displays an incredible number of the original means and tools that people used in their escape out of the GDR: from the hot-air balloon to a mini-submarine, plus plenty of real and fake travel documents.

The elegant white-stone Al Noor Mosque defines the Corniche, and is, perhaps, Sharjah's most famous (of Sharjah's more than 600). It is a place of religious worship and a sight not to miss both inside and out - the mosque is currently the only one open to tourists, offering guided tours to the general public every Monday.

Not everyone has the opportunity to travel to Africa, but if you are in Liverpool you can get a taste of it by visiting Knowsley Safari Park, located in Prescot, less than 30 minutes away from Liverpool. Here you can admire animal species from the Savannah and, if you dare, go on the walk-around tour.

Though it is quite small, the modern exhibition rooms of this compact museum contain a range of interesting exhibits dating back to different periods in the history of traditional Vietnamese medicine. You can easily understand everything with the help of an English-speaking guide.
