Mojácar is home to two statues in honour ir “mojaqueras”. The statue of “La Mojaquera” (Mojácar woman) has stood in front of the Church since 1989. Sculpted in marble and dressed in the typical attire, she holds the Arab scarf with her teeth and carries the water vessel that was used to carry the precious liquid from the fountain. Located in the Plaza Rey Alabez, next to the parking area, it is a bronze sculpture, symbolizing the woman changing their shoes when entering and leaving the village. You can read a “güajira mojaquera” (a popular folk song).

Where the Owengarriff River cascades through the wooded Friar’s Glen into Muckross Lake, you will find Torc Waterfall. A pretty path winds to the top of this 18m high waterfall looking out at stunning views of Torc Mountain.

The White Tower is the most iconic symbol of the city. The tower was constructed by the Ottomans sometime in the early 15th century and once guarded the eastern end of the city's sea walls. In the 19th century, this tower was used as a notorious prison. Nowadays, it is a welcoming museum of art and local history. The museum offers a rapid lesson in the history of the city. Once used as a site for Seoul's 1988 Olympic Games, the park now contains Korea's biggest sporting arena, and is frequented by city residents who come for nature walks amongst the park greenery or sporting events in one of the park's modern stadiums.
