This tiny museum was founded in 1876 and is known for being the first regional museum in Rijeka. It showcases sea life of the Adriatic Sea and features highlights such as the 'Aquarium' multimedia centre, permanent exhibits of sharks, rays and marine invertebrates. Beside the marine life, there is also a geology wing.

The National WWI Museum and Memorial is the official museum dedicated to the Great War in the United States. Located in the heart of Kansas City, it offers an extensive look at World War I, particularly focusing on American involvement. Visitors can explore diverse exhibits that feature authentic artifacts, immersive interactive displays, and engaging narratives. Key exhibits, such as "The Battlescape,” recreate the feeling of being in the trenches during artillery barrages, providing a deeper understanding of the soldiers' experiences. At the museum's grounds, you'll find a stunning poppy field and the Liberty Memorial Tower.

Parco del Valentino is a big public park right in the city centre, next to the river Po. Colourful flower beds, a small stream with wooden bridges and monumental fountains create a peaceful oasis amid the city. During spring and summer, you can chill all day long and well into the evening. The stately Castello del Valentino is the focal point of the park. Within the park, you'll find Borgo Medievale — an open-air museum and reconstructed medieval village and castle. After passing under the round City Tower, the former main medieval town entrance that gave access to the coast, you'll enter the centre of Rijeka's Old Town. Located in the modern-day Ivan Kobler Square, there was once a more compact municipal centre called Placa, which served the significantly smaller fortified medieval town.
