The Hanover Parish Church was constructed in 1725 on the ruins of an older Spanish church. The church's steeple was taken down after it sustained serious damage from an earthquake in 1957. It is widely believed that an underground tunnel connects the church to Fort Charlotte.

Port Zante is the largest cruise port in Saint Kitts and Nevis. The pier area consists of three separate piers designated for cruise ships. The pier area can currently accommodate up to four large cruise ships simultaneously. On busy days, when more than four ships arrive, the ships without a pier either use the cargo port or tender passengers ashore. The port's location could not be better, as it is only a short ten-minute walk to downtown Basseterre or "The Circus" as the locals call it. However, in order to benefit from this duty-free rates, local vendors might ask for a proof of non-residence such as a cruise ship card, a foreign driver's license, or a passport.
