The Museo Arqueológico, Etnográfico e Histórico Vasco, or simply The Basque Museum, is a cosy little museum in Plaza Unamuno, at the heart of the Old Town. This is a great place to visit on a rainy day before or after an aperitif of pintxos and drinks in the nearby bars of Casco Viejo. Learn about the ins and outs of Basque history, culture, and language in this three-storey museum and let yourself in for a journey from the Paleolithic to the present day. Most of the signs are in Basque and Spanish, although rooms have leaflets in English with translations of some of the signage.

Built in 1907 by Nesim Levi, a local Jewish businessman, the Historical Elevator Building was originally designed to facilitate the transportation of goods and people between the residential areas of Karataş and the trade centre below. Beyond its functional purpose, the Historical Elevator Building now stands as a historical and architectural landmark, offering a glimpse into İzmir's past and providing panoramic views of the city and the Aegean Sea from its upper terrace.

Jeddah’s origins trace back to ancient times, with its significant development occurring in the 7th century. It began as a fishing village and grew over the centuries. The Al-Balad neighbourhood, one of the city’s oldest areas, retains much of its historic charm. Here, you can find some of Jeddah’s oldest and most architecturally significant buildings, many constructed from traditional coral stones and intricately carved wooden elements.
