Hard to miss and easy to linger in, this L-shaped square is basically an open-air museum. Grab a seat at a café (yes, it’s pricey, but the people-watching is worth every euro), and you’ve got front-row views of Palazzo Vecchio, the Fountain of Neptune, and the statue of Cosimo I on horseback. Just off to the side is the Loggia dei Lanzi, packed with Renaissance sculptures—all free to see, no ticket needed. Early mornings or late evenings are quieter if you want to take it all in without the daytime crowds.

Constructed in the 16th century and still magnificent today. It's obvious why Dresdner Schloss still attracts tourists from all over the world, having been the residence of kings for over 400 years, and Baroque in style. Today, the castle houses 5 museums which present special literature, paintings, and armoury.

It is said that if you have never tried a Turkish bath then you have never been truly clean. Move through several hot rooms and finally arrive at the massage table for a real going over. Men and women bathe separately, exceptions are made at certain times for tourists. Çemberlitaş Hamam, situated near the Bazaar, is the oldest hamam in town and was reputedly built by the master architect Mimar Sinan in 1584.

This 12th century fortress keeps watch over the port and the Old Town of A Coruña. Today it houses a Museo Arqueoloxico e Historico (The Historical and Archaeological Museum) with an array of ancient Egyptian, Roman, Visigoth and contemporary pieces.
