The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum is dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of cultural and natural history. Employing multi-disciplinary methods of education, Rosicrucian teaches visitors about the complexities of past, present and future human relationships and endeavors. The research is collection-based, and the learning programs are collaborative and diverse. The architecture was modeled after the Temple of Amun at Karnak, and the museum boasts the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts in western North America.

There is no better way to start your visit to Lima than where it all began. The Plaza de Armas or Plaza Mayor is the birthplace of Peru's capital and still the city's main hub. Around the square, you will find many of Lima's historic landmarks such as a 17th-century Cathedral, the Government Palace (the official residence of Peru's president), the Archbishop's Palace, the Municipal Palace, the Palace of the Union, and the Casa del Oidor — it is a great place to admire many of the colonial architectural gems Lima boasts. Embellishing the centre of the plaza is a beautiful 1650 bronze fountain set on what once was the grounds of the city's gallows. At noon, walk to the Presidential Palace to watch the traditional changing of the guards. Just a few minutes from there is the historic Gran Hotel Bolivar, where many Hollywood stars, singers, politicians and famous authors have stayed. The list includes former American President Nixon, Ernest Hemingway and Mick Jagger, among others.

The Toronto islands make for a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located only a short ferry ride away, the islands are a fantastic way to spend the day exploring the public art installations, bird watching, boating, camping and fishing. Centre Island is very family-friendly with its kid's entertainment areas and bike rental locations. Ward's Island is a great choice if you're looking to hike and enjoy nature. When you are done hiking the trails, check out the views of Lake Ontario, Tommy Thompson Park and Ward’s Island Beach from the boardwalk. Centre Island pier provides views of the islands, Tommy Thompson Park and Toronto’s city skyline. Seeing the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse is an absolute must.

Electric Picnic is a boutique festival held every September at the 18th-century Stradbally Hall, it’s as famous for its eclectic music line-up as its food and hot tubs, teepees, gourmet grub and family campsites.
