The Crack in the Mountain Trail winds through a stunning slot canyon along the Lower Colorado River, offering breathtaking desert scenery. This 4.7-mile moderate hike involves some climbing and culminates at a serene lakeside cove near the iconic Balance Rock. Keep an eye out for Bighorn Sheep along the way, they’re frequent visitors to the area. Locals affectionately call this trail 'SARA's Crack,' given its striking geological formation and Sara Park is where the adventure begins.

Cathedral City Classic is the largest Division One softball tournament in the nation, the NCAA Women's Softball Tournament, is played here every February at Big League Dreams Sports Park. This tournament features 35 top D1 programs.

This beautiful example of Spanish colonial architecture contains a small museum dedicated to the Spanish Inquisition's brutal persecution of heretics once carried out in these very chambers. Visitors can still see some of the torture devices used to extract confessions of heresy and witchcraft, along with some of the questions used in "witch" interrogations, which are still displayed on the museum wall. Needless to say, no prisoner could hope to be acquitted of their purported crimes against the Catholic Church, and most met their tragic end at the very guillotine still on display in the courtyard.
