At the north western end of the Corniche is the main business district, which is noted for its spectacular high rise architecture. Among the prominent commercial buildings are the Qatar Financial Centre and new Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre, as well as the City Center-Doha and The Gate Mall. It is also home to several top hotels, including the Sheraton, Four Seasons, Kempinski, Hilton, Marriott Marquis, Movenpick and W Hotel. The central stretch of the Corniche offers a vista of green parks backed by a number of impressive public buildings.

As Port Zante is located right in Basseterre's city centre, getting there by ferry or taxi is relatively easy. There are also mini vans called "route taxis" If you are going to Port Zante in a route taxi, look for one that has "Basseterre" written on the front sign. Once you board the minibus, you can tell the driver that you want to go to Port Zante. The minibus will drop you off at the bus terminal in downtown Basseterre, and from there it's just a 10-minute walk to Port Zante. You can ask locals for directions or follow the signs to the cruise ship terminal. At the Fukuoka Castle, you can see the few remains of this early 17th-century hilltop castle. Although there isn't much left in the way of the original structure, the gardens and the view alone are worth the visit.

This functioning monastery isn't much of a developed tourist attraction, but visitors are welcomed by an English-speaking guard and ushered inside the early 14th century Serbian Orthodox monastery (built in place of an even more ancient 6th century basilica). There is a small gift shop selling ecclesiastic paraphernalia and souvenirs.
