El Cielo, aptly named "Heaven" in Spanish, is a secluded sandbar approximately 2 miles off Cozumel's coast, renowned for its silky white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Accessible only by boat, this idyllic spot has become a favorite among snorkelers and marine life enthusiasts. Beneath its shallow waters, visitors can observe a vibrant array of sea stars, commonly known as starfish, gracefully adorning the sandy floor. The area is also frequented by gentle stingrays and, occasionally, sea turtles, offering a serene glimpse into Cozumel's rich underwater ecosystem.

The fort and its beautiful gardens are a great place to escape the bustle of the city streets for a while. Dating back to 1684, the complex includes three monuments: the Quilla Mosque, the Tomb of Pari Bibi and the Hall of Audience. This last one, the only one visitors can enter, houses a small museum containing coins, carpets, paintings and more.

Often voted the world’s most luxurious hotel, the Burj Al Arab rises 321 metres above the Arabian Gulf, its sail-shaped silhouette perched on a private island just offshore. Beyond its grand design, it’s famous for its helipad—scene of jaw-dropping stunts from tennis matches to F1 doughnuts. Located in the northern part of Cozumel, the San Gervasio ruins are the island’s only preserved Mayan site and a must-visit for history enthusiasts. This archaeological complex was dedicated to Ix Chel, the Mayan goddess of fertility, midwifery, and medicine, and served as an important pilgrimage destination for Mayan women. Today, the site offers a fascinating glimpse into the ancient Mayan civilization, with well-preserved structures and a rich history to explore.
