The area surrounding Tokyo Skytree represents a modern counterpart to the traditional atmosphere of nearby Asakusa. While the 634-metre tower itself draws visitors with its two observation decks, the district at its base functions as a comprehensive destination. The Tokyo Solamachi complex houses over 300 shops and restaurants, the Sumida Aquarium, and a planetarium. This riverside part of Sumida Ward has been reshaped by the tower's development, creating a commercial hub with plazas and green spaces that offer dramatic perspectives of the structure itself.

Named after the former U.S. President, this park in the heart of Miraflores is a nice quick stop while in the area. Mostly known for being home to countless stray cats, this small park also serves as a stage for many street performers, food vendors and a daily flea market.

A few kilometres south of central Nha Trang lie several floating villages, whose inhabitants make a living by fishing and fish farming. It's a world fascinating to foreign visitors in its stark contrast to city life, both in Vietnam and beyond. The trip makes for an interesting excursion, and visits support local communities. The best way to visit is as part of an organised boat tour – these often include a stop at a floating fishing village in the itinerary.

The “Grand House” of El Castell de Guadalest or “Casa Orduña” was built after the great earthquake of 1644, which devastated the region and demolished the buttress of the castle. It was built by the Orduñas, a family of Basque lineage. They came to the kingdom of Valencia with the Infante Fortuna de Navarra; they later went into the service of the Cardonas, admirals of Aragón. D. Sancho de Cardona received the title of Marques of Guadalest in 1543. As the family enjoyed the complete confidence of the marqueses, they were sent to Guadalest and served as guardians of the fortress and governors of the estate for almost three hundred years.
