Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies houses 10,000 sea creatures spanning over 350 species. Among the attractions in store are the tropical rainforest, shark lagoon, gallery of the seas, penguin playhouse, coral reef, touch-a-ray bay, ocean realm, stingray bay, systems control, and the discovery center. Underwater tunnels give visitors the feeling of truly being in the water with the fascinating creatures, and dive and feeding shows are equally as interactive.

As Port Zante is located right in Basseterre's city centre, getting there by ferry or taxi is relatively easy. There are also mini vans called "route taxis" If you are going to Port Zante in a route taxi, look for one that has "Basseterre" written on the front sign. Once you board the minibus, you can tell the driver that you want to go to Port Zante. The minibus will drop you off at the bus terminal in downtown Basseterre, and from there it's just a 10-minute walk to Port Zante. You can ask locals for directions or follow the signs to the cruise ship terminal. North of La Manga on the spit lies the Tomas Maestre marina, a port set up directly on the dividing line between Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. Available activities other than marvelling at luxury yachts (and sea vessels of the more modest variety) include dining, bar-hopping, and shopping.

The Eye Filmmuseum screens classic and art-house movies on a daily basis.
