Standing on Bologna’s main square, (Piazza Maggiore), the Basilica of San Petronio is one of the largest medieval churches in Italy and an important symbol of the city. The inside is full of Gothic archways, stained glass windows and doors from the 15th and 16th centuries.

The Domus del Chirurgo, also referred to as the Surgeon's House, is an important archaeological complex of over 700 square metres that includes several buildings. The Surgeon's House preserves the remains of an ancient Roman house dating from the second century AD. The most outstanding find is a collection of 150 surgical instruments.

The Aviation Museum, Museo Dell’Aviazione, is located outside Rimini and has around 40 planes, including a MiG-23, Phantom and Lockheed F-104. Some of the planes on display are from conflicts in Korea, India-Pakistan, Vietnam, Iran-Iraq, Gulf, Afghanistan and Bosnia.
