Nicknamed the 'Iron Cathedral' because of the iron girders it has supporting the traditional arches (a structural necessity to protect the building from earthquakes and hurricanes), the quaint Église Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul is one of the prettiest buildings in the city and well-worth checking out.

The Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque is a religious monument still in operation, located in the heart of Sarajevo's historic Bascarsija district. The building is a fine example of Ottoman architecture, and its well-kept courtyard is an inviting oasis of tranquility in the city's busy historic center.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Old Town charms with its colourful townhouses and the exceptional atmosphere of its narrow streets. When in the Old Town Market Square, you'll meet a mermaid — the official symbol of the city. Don’t forget to see the Barbican, stop by the bell on Kanonia Street, and walk along the old city walls. You should also visit the Royal Castle. Apart from the royal apartments, the old seat of Polish rulers also houses an art collection with paintings by Rembrandt and Bernardo Bellotto, also known as Canaletto. The brewery, which dates back to 1854, is claimed to be the first establishment to start industrial production of beer in Sarajevo. Visit the museum or arrange a tour of the brewery (pre-booking required, minimum group size - 15 people), and conclude the visit at the Pivara's very own restaurant.
