Even the exterior of Universum Bremen was designed to astound: this science centre is housed in a futuristic-looking structure which looks uncannily like a whale. It is even situated on a lake. Visitors of any age will enjoy getting up close to natural phenomena, such as what it feels like to experience an earthquake, and having a go at experiments, such as stopping lightning bolts. Try out the interactive exhibits as you move through the permanent exhibition spaces dedicated to Technology, Humans and Nature and the ever-changing special exhibitions about socially important topics. There are also many exciting things to discover in the outdoor area at Universum, where you can conduct experiments in the open air.

Installed in the tunnels of former quarries, in the heart of Paris, the Catacombs are at once a fascinating and eerie attraction. Walk down the many steps to experience this spooky underground cemetery. Here you will find the osseous remains of more than 6 million people, moved to this location from an old cemetery.

The permanent exhibitions at the Västerbotten Museum delve into the county's ancient history, cultural heritage, settler life and reindeer husbandry. It also houses a remarkable photographic collection of Sune Jonsson, capturing the essence of the Norrland agricultural landscape. In the summer, the outdoor museum at Gammlia buzzes with activity. Historical buildings, relocated from various parts of the county, together with period-costumed cottage hosts and farm animals, create an authentic atmosphere. Three different Sami settlements have been recreated at Gammlia. In the winter, visitors can explore the permanent exhibitions and wander through the grounds.
