Le due Torri (The Two Towers), Garisenda e degli Asinelli, are iconic symbols of Bologna's skyline, dating back to the 12th century. Towering over the city, they stand as testament to Bologna's medieval heritage and architectural splendour. While the Garisenda Tower is known for its distinctive lean, the Asinelli Tower offers breathtaking panoramic views from its summit.

The Medici Chapels are two structures at the Basilica San Lorenzo, and an important landmark of the history of Florence. As hinted by its name, it celebrates the city's patrons and Grand Dukes family of the Medici, whose story is entangled to the history of Florence. The Sagrestia Nuova, dating from the 16th century was designed by Michelangelo.

About 80 km from Hangzhou city and just an easy hour bus ride away, Wu Zhen is a town where time passes without notice. More and more tourists have discovered the time-worn cobbled stone streets, crow-stepped gable, wooden doors and long, narrow alleys of Wu Zhen. Still, the life of the locals seem undisturbed. They still keep to their traditional customs, like drinking Sanbai Wine, making traditional maltose and sipping morning tea until 9.30 am, the same leisurely and pleasing way their great grandfathers did. With the newly created Wu Zhen International Theater Festival, the town shows also a touch of modern culture.

One of the most important archaeological museums in Italy, Brescia's City Museum is housed in the 8th-century monastery of Santa Giulia, which was founded by the Lombard King, Desiderio. This museum is well-worth seeing, not only for the huge quantity of exhibits, but also for the beauty of the buildings: the 8th-century Basilica of San Salvatore, the 12th century church of Santa Maria in Solario (see the stunning 16th-century frescoes in the oratory) and the 16th-century church of Santa Giulia. Closed on non-holiday Mondays.
