Perched on the highest point of the island, the Guellala Museum provides visitors with a comprehensive and immersive exploration of the cultural heritage of Djerba. Within its walls, the museum unfolds a rich tapestry of Djerbian life through diverse exhibits, each dedicated to themes ranging from festivities and traditions to myths, legends, pottery, mosaics, and traditional music.

Situated approximately 18 kilometres east of Antalya, Perge (also known as Perga) was once home to the Hittites around 1500 BC, before falling under Greek colonisation post the Trojan War. The extensive ruins showcase a Roman theatre, a vast stadium, and column-lined streets harking back to the era when the Apostle Paul is believed to have made a stopover during one of his missions. During Roman times the Cardo was Jerusalem's main street, and it must have been quite a view: lined by columns that linked as roofed arcades above pedestrians, it was 22 meters wide and teemed with carriages and cattle. The street has been rediscovered and partially restored by archaeologists in 1975. While walking, you'll see wall remains of the First and Second Temple, columns, and typical stone brick pavements. In the north there is an authentic bazaar which dates back to the Crusades era.

The permanent exhibitions at the Västerbotten Museum delve into the county's ancient history, cultural heritage, settler life and reindeer husbandry. It also houses a remarkable photographic collection of Sune Jonsson, capturing the essence of the Norrland agricultural landscape. In the summer, the outdoor museum at Gammlia buzzes with activity. Historical buildings, relocated from various parts of the county, together with period-costumed cottage hosts and farm animals, create an authentic atmosphere. Three different Sami settlements have been recreated at Gammlia. In the winter, visitors can explore the permanent exhibitions and wander through the grounds.
