The Jean Lafitte National Historic Park and Preserve offers a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in Cajun culture and the natural beauty of the bayou. Named after the legendary "Gentleman Pirate" Jean Lafitte, who played a key role alongside General Andrew Jackson in defending New Orleans during the War of 1812, the park provides a rich historical experience. Visitors can also explore the Chalmette battlefield, where the pivotal Battle of New Orleans took place.

If you want to go out for a relaxing walk, the Loire is a great place to head for. You will find walkways alongside the river, perfect for pleasant and quiet walks beside the water.

Solliden is the summer residence of the Swedish royal family, which they visit several times a year. Commissioned by Queen Victoria, on the advice of her doctor Axel Munthe, and with Mediterranean influences, the palace was completed in 1906. Munthe was of the opinion that Öland’s abundant sunshine and oxygen-rich air would improve her health, and to this day the royals are happy to enjoy Öland’s sun! Solliden Palace is open to visitors throughout the summer months. Visitors have free access to most of the parks. Café, shop and a pavilion with exhibitions.

Adjacent to a famous beach with basic amenities, this aptly named diving spot offers a one-of-a-kind glimpse into Dominica's colourful marine life. Underwater exploration is made unique by the incessant bubbling of water thanks to the volcanic hot springs, complemented by a coral reef of golden (well, champagne) colour. Snorkel highlights include octopuses, water lilies, eels, sea horses — and a centuries-old shipwreck.
