The Fort Montbarey was initially constructed as a fortified stronghold under the reign of Louis XVI. It's located to the west of Brest and shares similarities with Questel Fort. Brest provided the fort to the Memorial Association to establish a museum focusing on the history of the Finistère region during WWII. The museum is actually one among a series of five forts that collectively narrate the region's history.

Sozopol, one of Bulgaria’s oldest towns, lies 35 kilometres south of Burgas and is easily accessible within an hour’s drive. Divided into the Old Town and New Town, it offers a charming atmosphere with cobbled streets, Greek (and Greek-inspired) architecture, and traditional Black Sea Revival-style houses. Aquae Calidae, located about 17 kilometres from central Burgas, is a historical site that blends ancient and modern elements. Known for its Roman baths dating back to the 1st century AD, the site also features medieval structures and the restored bathhouse of Suleiman the Magnificent. Modern walkways and 3D mapping technology guide visitors through its rich history, from Thracian times to the Ottoman era. The complex includes a café, souvenir shop, and an amphitheatre, with plans for further development, including a museum and active spa centre.

One of the finest on Naxos, Plaka is a long, attractive sandy beach which really comes alive in summer. Numerous taverns and cafes line the waterfront (most operate May to October), and holidaymakers swim in the turquoise waters and play beach games and water sports from dusk till dawn.
