On Corso Manthoné lies the house where the controversial poet Gabriele D’Annunzio was born on 12 March 1863. It is now a museum with a collection of his letters and documents. A follower of Mussolini, D’Annunzio helped shape the dictator’s philosophy and wrote poetry inspired by the Abruzzo region.

This old racing circuit from the 1950’s can be found just outside the city. If you are a fan of motor sport, this place will truly catch you interest. Circuit de Reims-Gueux has hosted various big events during the years.

The Beitou area of Taipei is renowned for its high concentration of thermal spa centres. During the 9th century this was the largest church in Spain and although now dwarfed by later and greater buildings, it remains of great significance in the history of Spanish religious architecture. The church is well worth a visit, especially for its magnificent array of gorgeously coloured murals.
