Strolling around the cobbled streets of Vegueta, where the twin towers of Catedral de Santa Ana dominate the skyline, feels like stepping back in time, for you're walking in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus. Visit the Ermita de San Antonio hermitage, where a kneeling Columbus prayed prior to setting sail.

Manhattan is an island packed with some of the world’s most recognizable landmarks. Spend time in Central Park, see a Broadway show, and experience the bright rush of Times Square. Each neighborhood here has its own rhythm, from the historic streets of Harlem to the cobblestones of SoHo and the towering skyline of Midtown. The beach across the bay from Santander is much-loved for its soft sand and relative tranquillity. There is a surf school–the first of its kind in Spain–on the beach, too (Escuela Cántabra de Surf, Calle Isla De Mouro, 12). The best way to get there is by regular boat service run by Los Reginas on the Paseo Marítimo.
