Fisherman's Village is located near the beach, on the northern coast of Koh Samui. The pier is actually in decay, but the village still retains its charm. The area comes alive every Friday night when the main street is blocked off to vehicles to make space for stalls that sell everything from coconut carved monkeys to clothes and other souvenirs. During the rest of the week, it's still a picturesque place for a walk.

In the centre of Skanderbeg Square stands a prominent statue of Albania’s national hero, George Kastrioti Skanderbeg. This striking monument is one of Tirana's most recognisable landmarks and is hard to miss. With some photography skills, you can capture the statue along with two other significant icons of the city: the Et'hem Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower, all within one frame.

Home to many timeless works of art such as 'Girl with the Pearl Earring' and 'The Goldfinch', the Mauritshuis Museum showcases the Dutch Golden Age of painting in all its splendour. Amongst others featured in the museum are both Rembrandt and Vermeer, two of the most celebrated master painters of this momentous time in Dutch history. In their work, they are able to capture the essence of the Netherlands as a global powerhouse and one of the most prosperous nations in Europe throughout the seventeenth century. Be aware that some of the better-known paintings are occasionally sent around the world to be presented in other art exhibitions so it is advisable to check ahead of time to see if they are on display.
